The Heart of England Handbell Society

The Heart of England Handbell Society was formed in October 2006 at a rally in Harvington,  by a group of teams from across the central England area. The society is aimed at all teams, large and small, in particular those who may not get the opportunity to peform in public on a regular basis.

The society provides opportunities for handbell ringers across the Midlands area to ring together, socialise, enjoy each others concerts and attend events staged by the teams in the society.

The main aims of the society are:-

** To promote handbell ringing across the central England area.

** To support handbell teams across the area

** To stage local rallies with the focus on individual team performance.

** To stage local concerts and to support teams to stage their own concerts.

** To produce two newsletters each year to promote and support the activities of every team in the society.

** To operate a society which refloects the needs of it's membership.

NEWS

The Ringing World
The Heart of Engand Handbell Society was featured in 'The Ringing World' issue dated 4th March 2011.  The short article carried a brief introduction to the society with an appeal to small team teams based in the central England area to join the society.

BBC Radio Stoke
Paul Mellor and Stef Johnson gave an interview live on BBC Radio Stoke on Saturday 26th February 2011, on the Breakfast Show.  The main topic of the conversation was Stone Handbell Ringers - but the society did get a mention!!

Heart of England - Newsletters
The society publish two newsletters each year (usually February and October) - a limited number of back copies are available if anyone would like a copy.  If you are interested in obtaining copies of our previous newsletters, please contact us via the society email address.
